Hi--I am going to Harbin to teach a course in Human Resource Management in August of 1999. This will be my third trip to China and I am looking forward to it. My previous trips were to Beijing and Xiian. I am looking for suggestions on some of the sights and experiences that alumni might recommend. For example, I expect to have two days off during the course. Are there any day trips or overnight trips that I could take to enhance my exposure to Chinese culture and the beauty of Chinese scenery. In addition how far is Russia from Harbin by road and is a trip into Russia for a day recommended. There may be visa restrictions and so on but at this point I am not sure whether it is worth pursuing until I know whether such a trip is possible. Thank you for your help.

I should have registered long ago, had I not been debating whether I ought to consider myself an HIT alumni. I don't have the BA in Technical English from HIT, since I left for Canada in 1995, one year before my graduation. I don't think two years in HIT, plus one year in US as an exchange student from HIT, amounts to nothing. I grew up on that campus, and my parents still teach there, and my brother had his BSc and MSc from HIT. I still miss the school, though for various reasons I had to leave.

I just hope to get in touch with some of you, whom I may know or may not, and share some of the memories we all have of our alma mater.

Hope to hear back from some of you.

Sincerely,

Tracy Rong Li

First of all, I would like to thank very much to all of your staffs who work on HIT overseas web page. It is definitely a wonderful job. I believe every HIT Alumni benefits from your work. Very appreciate.

I live in Toronto area (Ontario province, Canada) before HIT homepage launched, however so far I only know a couple of HIT alumni. There should be quite few HIT alumni in this area, but I wonder whether every one has chance to look into HIT homepage or knows HIT has homeoage or not. In order for more HIT alumni getting chance to visit HIT web side, my suggestion is why we do not put a NOTICE on CND (Chinese News Digest, in overseas) because most of overseas chinese (students) can get CND through email as I know.

If any one who live in this area like to get togather, please do not hasitate to contact me.

When I came to Penn State two years ago, there were no homepages of H.I.T. in Yahoo. I lost my connection with my alumini. Now from your list I find my old classmates.
Thank you for your good work. Keep doing. Wish you good luck.

Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

So exciting to find so many alumni here! I graduated in 1996, so most of you are my SHI XIONG SHI JIE. Now I'm still in our old motherland, working as a low level officer in a large yankee invested corporation in Tianjin. The e-mail address I left here is a web-based one, free of charge, but it can work. Any mails from any alumni/alumnae are warm welcomed.

About this web site:

1. the color of the background make it very difficult to read this page in a non-256-color screen, how about make the background lighter and letters darker? 2. H.I.T. has changed a lot since 1993, not only the campus, but the setting up of departments and colleges. These changes should be shown in this site.

I know it's a hard work to construct such a web site and keep it updated. Were there anything I can do, don't hesitate to contact me.

Hello, I am also a graduate of H.I.T., and I just found your work on overseas Web site of H.I.T. alumni. I want very very much to express my thanks to you, and you can bet my words can not completely describe my entire feeling. You know, your work may be much more meaningful than you ever thought. I got some suggestions for the site.

1.it may be better to add titles to the graphs of campus building.
2.How about create a mailing list, and a link to this list to let every one has the chance to make a generally related annoucement to all the alumni registered.

Also, if you need, I may help in any form. I just want the site become even better!

I accidently find the overseas Web page of H.I.T. alumni, and it is hard to describe my feeling especially when I saw some familiar name which rose the piece of memory of my undergraduate life at H.I.T.. I am moved by the work of Wei Tian, and I want to say "Thank you, Wei Tian!!!"

When I left H.I.T. in July 1993, H.I.T. was undertaking her great change(campus reforming, new Gym, new library, and several other new building.) She is more beatiful than ever. If you get a chance to go back China, go and see her! I think he, I and every graduate of the H.I.T. we love H.I.T., we miss her, we try to do something to leverage her reputaiton, and do something to memorize our lives at H.I.T..
I want to say hello to all of you.
Let's make this and other cites related to H.I.T. popular!
Let all of the overseas H.I.T. alumni join us!
Let's make it a great place for us to meet each other!

I am very glad to see H.I.T. oversee homepage. It is very impressive. As an alumni of H.I.T., I am very gratitute to whose who put this home page together.

I have search through the web, there is another H.I.T. oversee home page(through High Energy Institute's net). Could we form a unified oversea H.I.T. page, and link to www.hit.edu.cn (the official H.I.T. homepage).

Another suggestion, could we help the H.I.T. home page to smooth its English text and to improve its graphics design. Sorry to see other Universities in China with better and more impressive design than H.I.T.'s.

(1) The items color could be changed so that after viewed they won't be hard tell from the dark back ground.

(2) It would be helpful to have plain sheet of table that we could see all entries of Alumni

Hi, I am so happy to see H.I.T. on-line and my years at H.I.T. was the best in my memory. I am sure that in the future people will thank you guys for setting up this Web site.

I think you should register the H.I.T. Web site in Yahoo and other search engines to spread words out in the cyberspace. I have just checked Yahoo a moment ago and some less known universities from China have been listed but not H.I.T.'s. Also we should have an aggressive campaign in Chinese cyber media to get more H.I.T. Alumni registered in the Web site. Some of my classmates from H.I.T. are known to work in Northern California but lost communication after a few years. As the Internet becomes more popular, I am sure the H.I.T. Web site will become a common meeting place for all of us.

Hello, I would like to announce the addition of Harbin Institute of Technology - Harbin, Hei Longjiang to the China Alumni Page located in http://www.infophil.com/China/Alumni/H.I.T. The alumni page is a voluntary effort by several U.C. Berkeley students and will always remain a free service. Thank you for your submission.

We are in the process of reorganizing our database and the top level page can now be visited by the easy to remember URL http://www.alumni.net The success of the alumni registry depends on its popularity and we would like to solicit your help. The page can made more popular by:

- adding a link from your home page to the alumni registy
- sending e-mail to your fellow alumni
- posting articles in bulletin boards
- asking sites such as http://www.yahoo.com & http://www.city.net to link to the alumni registry

Thank you.
